FROM PRESIDENT ROB MACISAAC:

On behalf of Mohawk College I would like to take this opportunity to extend greetings to you and wish you a Happy New Year!

While 2009 was an exciting year for me in my new role as President, we at Mohawk College are all looking forward to another year of what some economic forecasters suggest will be a promising 2010 for economic recovery and increased activity. At Mohawk College we're ready to embrace that activity by creating opportunities for our students, businesses and community in all aspects of education, training and skills development.

We believe that higher education and learning in leadership is an integral part of creating opportunities for economic growth and sustainability of community health.

This year it gives me great pleasure to invite you to attend the second Annual President's Dinner and to hear from our special keynote speaker, Kathy Bardswick, President and CEO of the Co-operators and Vice Chair of the Conference Board of Canada.  The Co-operators was founded in 1945 and is 100% Canadian owned. It is a company rich in history and is widely recognized for their solid platform of which they have dedicated to education and ongoing sustainability of "Community Health".

Please join me on Wednesday, February, 24th at LIUNA Station (360 James Street North, Hamilton), 5:30 pm as we hear from Kathy on the relationship that exists between economic and social attributes for creating healthy prosperous communities and the role that the Co-operators has played. Tickets are $75.00 (+GST) and can be ordered from Mohawk College Enterprise online at www.mohawkcollegeenterprise.ca or by calling 905.667.6230.

Your support is appreciated and I look forward to seeing you on the 24th.
